For thousands of residents across Hammersmith and Fulham, getting from A to B has become increasingly difficult.
Roads are gridlocked. Engines are idling. Hammersmith Bridge remains closed to traffic. And the Labour Council's only plan is to make this worse.
Labour will introduce more traffic schemes that only force more cars on to our congested roads. They want to narrow main roads by putting in cycle lanes. And they'll enforce all this without consulting residents.
'We've been out speaking to residents and businesses across Hammersmith and Fulham -- and it's clear the current traffic chaos is damaging our community. Local businesses have seen a decrease in footfall. The air we breathe is more polluted,' says local resident Stewart Waine, councillor candidate.
Local Conservatives have a plan to fix the gridlock -- and get Hammersmith and Fulham moving again.
'We'll lead a borough wide consultation into all the recent traffic schemes. We'll consult properly with residents -- listening to where these measures work and don't work,' says Councillor Victoria Brocklebank-Fowler, leader of the Conservative Group.
'We'll also work with the Government, and Mayor of London to re-open Hammersmith Bridge to all traffic. We know the funding is available to fix it -- so we'll make sure to release that money.'
