Cllr Amanda Lloyd-Harris
Amanda was re-elected as a Palace Riverside ward Councillor in May 2018 and is the Group’s spokesman on Adult Social Care & Social Inclusion. As an Australian, she brings that passion and enthusiasm to the various local community activities she’s engaged in, e.g. Friends of Bishops Park, WBR Association and PR SNP (Police Panel). She is currently a Trustee of H&F AgeUK, Lygon Almshouse and a Welcomer at All Saints Church. Amanda has championed many causes across the borough, such as improving facilities in Hurlingham and Bishops Parks, working with the Police to ensure a safer ward for residents and helping our Council tenants get the repairs and support they desperately need.
Cllr Aliya Afzal-Khan
Aliya has lived in Parsons Green with her husband and two sons for the last 7 years and in London for over 15 years. She runs her own educational software and App development company. Aliya is a STEM Academic Mentor for Secondary schools, currently helping students at the Hurlingham Academy. She is actively involved in many local organisations including the H&F Volunteer Centre, the Society of Fulham Artists and Potters, and the Fulham Palace Trust. Aliya is passionate about our local parks and fixing broken/uneven pavements. She is an advocate for step-free access at Putney Bridge station. She wants residents to be able to enjoy our Borough safely and her priorities include cracking down on crime and anti-social behaviour; dealing with fly-tipping and graffiti; and improving air quality and traffic congestion.
Cllr Jackie Borland
Jackie is born and bred in South West London and has lived in Fulham for the past decade. During the lockdown Jackie volunteered with LBHF to deliver PPE to vulnerable residents and now that COVID measures are ending, she is passionate about councils helping local businesses to get back on their feet: “Vibrant and successful high streets are key to community life.” In an especially beautiful ward like Palace & Hurlingham, Jackie thinks it is important to guard the overall aesthetic of the area. Therefore, her priorities will be the upkeep of our parks, appropriate planning and development, and pushing the Council to have a zero-tolerance attitude towards fly-tipping. Having been a Councillor, before she is looking forward to advocating on behalf of residents to achieve and protect what matters most to them.
Our Goals
• Reverse the hike in parking charges. Since Labour took control of the Council, they have doubled car parking charges in all our zones – hitting small businesses and local people when they’ve needed our support the most.
• Re-instate the Parks Police and support local policing. Labour has cut local police just when burglaries, knife crime and anti-social behaviour have soared.
• Open Hammersmith Bridge for all traffic. Labour failed to maintain the upkeep of Hammersmith Bridge forcing it to close for the last three years – they have been too slow, despite Government help, to fix it. The funding is there – we will re-open it.
• Fix our run-down housing stock. LBHF Council housing has been judged one of the worst in the country for damp, mould and failed repairs – meaning families have been forced to live in unacceptable conditions.
• Consult properly with residents to sort out Fulham’s traffic. Labour imposed traffic measures without consulting residents resulting in standstill traffic, idling engines, and dirtier air.
